MTE is pleased to be welcoming local schools to their manufacturing facility as part of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day 2022 celebrations on July 7th, 2022.
The event gives manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors to a range of young people and showcase the range of potential careers and highly skilled jobs they offer.
The aim is to help encourage all age groups from school leavers to more experienced workers looking at reskilling to consider the possibilities of a career in manufacturing as well as helping local communities understand more about the businesses on their doorstep.
The day will see local schools visit MTE’s quayside fabrication and office facility located in Teesside. During the day, visitors will take part in a series of events including STEM activities, engineering talks and a guided factory tour consisting of welding demonstrations and Q&A’s.
The students will also be able to talk directly to members of staff about how the company works and what opportunities might be available for them.
MTE will also demonstrate the value of a welding and fabrication apprenticeship as an alternative route after school or college as a way to “earn as you learn” – taking a young person all the way to a University Degree for those who want to.
