MTE has been awarded a contract by Shell UK to provide our design and technical expertise to the Clipper Platform, located in the North Sea.
MTE’s design and engineering team will produce the design & safety report for some of the existing blast wall panels on the topside structure – MTE originally supplied blast walls on this platform in 1989.
The Clipper South Gas Field lies in the UK Continental Shelf and it’s thought that the gas field has reserves of approximately 13.4 billion cubic metres of gas and has an estimated production life of 15 years. Supply from the field to the UK gas network via Shell’s Clipper hub began in November 2018.
Using MTE’s bespoke software modelling and calculation tools, our fire and blast wall products provide considerable weight and cost saving benefits. MTE is also able to provide valuable design information on how steel structures will perform under different blast conditions which has resulted in MTE working on some of the largest oil and gas projects worldwide.
As a leading company in the design and engineering of fire and blast wall panels we are thrilled to be working with Shell UK to deliver our services.
