MTE Wins Contract to Deliver to Offshore Wind Project

MTE Wins Contract to Deliver to Offshore Wind Project

Mech-Tool Engineering are delighted to announce that we have recently secured a new contract with DryDocks World Ltd to deliver our industry leading fire and blast solutions to the Hollandse Kust Zuid Alpha project.

Using our 50 years of expertise, MTE will design, engineer, fabricate and supply our A0 fire rated and Non-Rated (NR) external and internal profiled wall panels.

Located in the North Sea, in front of the Dutch Coast, the offshore wind farm project is part of the Dutch government’s plans to develop 3.5 GW of wind energy production by 2023. To achieve this, there are plans for five 700 MW wind farm zones, to which MTE will supply to the third zone (HKZ platform Alpha) – this project is set to be complete by 2021.

We are thrilled to have recently started the fabrication of the walls in our Mech-Tool Korea facility. Having gained extensive experience delivering our safety solutions to major off-shore wind projects, MTE are delighted to continue to further strengthen our expertise and project portfolio within the renewable energy industry.

Speaking about the recent contract win, Craig Rose, MTE’s BD Strategy & Proposals Director said: “The confidence shown by DryDocks World Dubai and their client Petrofac, in selecting Mech-Tool Engineering as the successful bidder for the supply of the fire rated walling package is of great importance to us. The award recognises the efforts and competence of the whole MTE team, together with our world class products and reinforces the company as one of the world leading suppliers of Offshore Wind high integrity architectural wall and door packages. The MTE Renewable division are proud to continue the trusted association with Petrofac following-on from the recent Galloper topsides project and we look forward to the growth of a valued relationship with the world class DDWD Yard of the UAE.”
