Formed in 1969 Mech Tool Engineering has been operating out
of Darlington fabricating high integrity steel structures which protect people
from the fire and blast risks associated with various energy industries.
The development of the fabrication business was really
focussed upon protecting people from fire and blast hazards following the Piper
Alpha disaster when many lives were lost. The company immediately set to work
to design engineer and build Fire and Blast protective wall systems to minimise
the risk of such a disaster ever happening again. Since then our fire and blast
walls have been certified at the highest level and have been installed on
numerous offshore and onshore installations throughout the world.
In recognition of the milestone of 50 years in the industry,
the company will be having a celebratory event with all of the staff later in
the year nearer to the actual company birthday date.
