Congratulations to MTE’s Anthony Hall for Raising Over £10,000 for Charity

We are proud to announce the recent achievements of MTE’s Senior Draughtsman, Anthony Hall, in his efforts in raising over £10,000 for Prostate Cancer UK by taking part in Jeff Stelling’s March for Men 2017 and various other fundraising events. What’s more, Anthony raised the largest amount of money for the worthy charity which has been recognised by Jeff Stelling himself!

Anthony, alongside his nephew, walked the last two days of Jeff Stelling’s March For Men, walking a marathon each day from Darlington Football Club all the way through to the final stop at Newcastle United Football Club passing other local football clubs along the route. The total amount of money raised from the march currently stands at over £800,000 with Jeff Stelling himself having walked for the full 15 days – on an impressive 400 mile journey – from Exeter to Newcastle raising £330,000 for his efforts.

Anthony also helped organise a charity evening – in aid of raising money towards the walk – that saw the attendance of 250 people join together for a night of entertainment at a local working men’s club. The club generously provided the room and the bar staff for free with a band also offering to perform free of charge on the night. The evening saw a grand prize raffle with fabulous prizes donated by various clubs, local businesses and individuals around the UK as well as a lottery bonus ball drawn.

As recognition for Anthony’s efforts in achieving top fundraiser in the March for Men 2017, Anthony & his nephew were invited by Jeff Stelling and Prostate Cancer UK to the recent Just Giving Awards at the Brewery in London. He happily shared the moment in which Jeff won Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year beating stiff competition from famous faces including Tom Hardy and Denise Van Outen.

Prostate Cancer UK is a charity close to Anthony’s heart, having been diagnosed with the early stages himself in September 2016 and his brother-in-law diagnosed with the disease in June last year and is still facing the battle.

Anthony plans to continue raising money by holding regular bonus balls and has already organised next year’s charity evening in April with all proceeds donated to the charity. All money raised helps towards better diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support and Anthony would like to thank all that have already raised money for this excellent cause.
