Siemens Wins Contract for Hohe See OWF

Siemens Wind Power has secured a contract to provide – for the first time – a complete set of solutions to the EnBW Hohe See offshore wind farm.

The 497 MW Hohe See OWF will be located 90 km north of the German island Borkum in the North Sea where it will start supplying 560,000 households with renewable energy by the third quarter of 2019.

Already involved in the project-specific development of the foundations in 2016, Siemens – partnering with logistics specialist GeoSea – will provide 71 turbines, towers, topsides, foundations, grid connection and once commissioned will service and provide maintenance for the wind farm for a period of five years.

Having never provided a full scope of engineering services before, Hohe See will be one of the largest contracts the company has ever won.
